La Croix Gites is a gite near animal parks: all within an hour’s drive from here.
The most popular without a doubt is Vallée des Signes – Monkey Valley – which is an hour from here and very popular with guests.
There is a friendly zoo La Colline Enchantée – The enchanted hill – just the other side of Confolens, 30 minutes drive from here which is fantastic for smaller children with very friendly and curious animals.
Perhaps you would prefer to visit the Island of Serpents and Reptiles or the Castle of Eagles!
Limoges Aquarium makes a popular trip if you are going to Limoges, or if it happens to be raining.
For wildlife lovers, because La Croix Gites is in a protected area, there is also plenty of opportunity to for bird watching and other wildlife within walking distance from here.

There is a “Centre Equestre” at Pressignac within 2km of La Croix Gites, taking all-comers for hacks and lessons. With small shetland ponies for smalls, up to mature horses for adults. Open all year-round.
This small aquarium is situated in an old underground reservoir in the centre of Limoges. Easy to find by following the ring road. Good selection of marine and freshwater fish from piranhas to shark, and Nemo and Dorey for the kids.
Falconry an equestrian exhibitions are available through July and August at Le Moulin de la Courade at La Couronne (not far from the Chocolate Making).
