Things to do on-site at La Croix

Games Room

Our games room has a small pool table, books, family DVDs and loads of board games, children’s toys of all shapes and sizes: train sets, building blocks, meccano and lego for budding engineers, a dressing up box, farm sets etc. for you and your children to rummage through and play with.

The games room also has a sizeable terrace for larger parties.

Covered Play

There is a covered play area with swings, table tennis, play houses and basket ball hoop for kids to play under-cover.

Toddlers play area

There is a safe, enclosed, all-day-shaded children’s play area for under-sevens and a separate area with equipment for older children.

“Treetops”

The kids have adopted one of the small outhouses and turned it into (another) playroom. ‘Treetops’ makes the perfect house, restaurant, school or simply becomes a place for kids to let their imagination run free.

Sitting Areas

There are separate areas away from the cottages and pool where you can read, dine or just relax.

Fun Fishing

We have a small lake occupying about an acre. There are many different species of freshwater fish in it, which you are welcome to try and catch and put back. It is not a professional fishing lake and it is not open to the public. See more details here.

Badminton, Croquet, Cricket, Boules

We have a badminton set, a cricket set (bats, wickets, pads, ball, gloves), football goals, a croquet set and bats and balls for a whole host of games. There is plenty of room for guests to team up and enjoy playing and watching football matches, cricket or rounders in the garden whilst enjoying the beautiful evening sunsets.   There are also boules sets and full size “piste” for use by guests.

Giant Chess

New in 2019, we have an under cover giant chess set. Outwit your opponents and become the La Croix Spa grand master.

Woods to wander in

We have several acres of lovely woodland and a pine plantation where you can wander or sit and read in total silence.
