There is a small, privately owned chocolatier in Trois Palis, just outside Angouleme, Poitou-Charentes. One of the staff will take you on a guided tour to show how all the different types of chocolate, nougat and sugar-based confectionery is made. Sampling is encouraged! This dairy farm is open to the public and produces organic yogurts, white cheese and creme fraiche. Yum! Using traditional methods and their herd of 140 cows in 200 hectares this farm shop is well worth a visit for organic, traditionally made dairy products.
