Cognac distillery tours are available at Martell and Remy Martin. Interesting tours followed by a tasting and activities put on to entertain the kids and your are in the heart of beautiful Jarnac which is worth spending the rest of the day exploring.
Alternatively visit the vineyard of St Sornin and taste and take home some of their fine wines.
You will also find the local aperitif “Pineau des Charentes” in local supermarkets. This is cognac mixed with grape juice and is unique to this region (serve chilled).
